  Hendrix Oliomogbe  Eghosa Anglican Grammar School, Benin City, Edo State has emerged winner in Egor Local Government Area of the maiden edition of the Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation Secondary Schools Debate Competition in Edo State. By the feat, Eghosa Anglican Grammar School will represent the local government area in the Edo South Senatorial district edition of the competition for secondary schools in the 18 local government areas of the state. The contending students on the podium evoke the imagery of either politicians on the campaign stump or Sunday school pastors passionately preaching the Word of God, right on the pulpit. Edo PDP Hails Appeal Court Judgement on Governorship Election, Slams Aziegbemi Over Attack on Judges

The appeal of the judgment of the tribunal by the PDP governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, challenging the victory of incumbent Governor Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC)l was dismissed by the appellate court, sitting in Abuja on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Edo Petroleum Marketers Suspend Strike After Meeting With Government

  Hendrix Oliomogbe  Striking members of the Edo State branch of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) have suspended their one day strike action. A statement in Benin by the chairman, Alhaji Baba Saliu explained that the marketers decided to suspend the strike action after separate meetings in the Edo State capital with the director of the Department of State Security (DSS),  meeting with Special Adviser on Oil and Gas, Mr. Felix Isere in Government House and the release of arrested members of the association. Citing constant harassment of filling stations from officials of Edo State Petroleum Monitoring Taskforce under the guise of measuring their fuel pumps, Alhaji Saliu had ordered the marketers to suspend sales of all petroleum products throughout the state with effect from Tuesday May 28, 2025. Fuel Scarcity Looms in Edo as Marketers Order Closure of Filling Stations Over Harassment by Taskforce

Hendrix Oliomogbe  Edo people may once again experience the bad old days of fuel scarcity starting from tomorrow May 28, 2025 if members of the state branch of  Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) carry out their threat to suspend sales of all petroleum products thoughout the state. In a statement Tuesday in Benin by the Edo State  chairman of IPMAN, Alhaji Baba Saliu, after an emergency meeting by the association, he reiterated the determination of the members to shut down all their filling stations. Alhaji Saliu said that the move became necessary due to the constant harassment of filling stations from officials of Edo State Petroleum Monitoring Taskforce under the guise of measuring their fuel pumps. The Edo IPMAN chairman insisted that officials of the taskforce have no power to measure their fuel pumps.
