Museum of West Africa Art, Edo, Home For Scholars, Artisans to Be Commissioned June 2024

          Ms Disu and other officials of Museum for                  West Africa Art, Edo Hendrix Oliomogbe  With the commencement of full construction work, the Director of Museum for West Africa Art, Edo, Ms. Ore Disu has expressed hope that the pavillion will be completed by the middle of next year.  Ms Disu who disclosed this in a chat with journalists in Benin last weekend shortly after the end of a three day program said that the world class art gallery, Benin, when completed will be a home for scholars, artisans and museum practitioners in Africa. Why We Declare August 13 as Edo Language Day- Award Winning Female Author

Hendrix Oliomogbe               Nekpen Obasogie A Canada-based Nigerian writer, Lady Nekpen Obasogie has given reasons for the recent declaration of August 13 every year as Edo Language Day. Lady Obasogie, the author of "Great Benin: The Alcazar of Post-Colonial Culture" explained that the initiative is a response to the warning over the potential extinction of Edo Language and many other languages across the globe. The writer who was recently conferred with the honorary Pen Award by the Edo State chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) said that the declaration of the historic day was made at the first worldwide Edo Language Seminar organized by  NEBO TV .
