At Surprise Birthday Bash, Edo Health Ministry Workers Extol Perm Sec Eighemhenrio

There is a time and season for everything under the sun, so it's written. A time to work tirelessly and a time to unwind and celebrate.

So it was recently for Dr. Paul Eighemhenrio, the permanent secretary, Ministry of Health and a member of the National Institute For policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, Jos, who was hosted to a surprise birthday celebration by staff of the ministry in Benin City.

As a mark of honour and demonstration of deep love and respect, the perm sec, who was attending an official engagement was told to drop by to his office by some staff as he had visitors, only to be caught unaware of a birthday bash organized by the staff when he stepped in.

More than anything else, the surprise party was to appreciate him for his sterling leadership qualities, resilience and humility which has endeared him to them.

Speaking at the ceremony, the director of Public Jealth, Dr. Ojeifo said the staff decided to celebrate the PS as a way of showing him love for his unwavering commitment to staff welfare and exemplary conduct.

Dr. Ojeifo described the celebrant as a true leader, who is not only honest, transparent and an embodiment of love but also an epitome of hard work and diligence, whose intellectual prowess have continue to inspire staff to greater heights.

Speaker after speaker took turns to commend the PS for promoting inclusivity and galvanizing the staff to greatness and prayed God to imbue him with good health to finish strong.

Visibly elated, Dr. Eighemhenrio, a consultant, family medicine physician thanked the staff for celebrating him without notice, confessing that he was astonished when he met crowd in his office,and almost bust into tears of joy.

He attributed the series of achievements recorded in the health sector to the collective responsibility of all ,and the unwavering commitment of Governor Monday Okpebholo to ensure the well being of Edo people.

The permanent secretary, who was flanked by some senior staff in Edo Civil Service, including Mr. Nurudeen Aliu, a permanent secretary, Dr. Edward Aisowerien, director of Medical Services and other top management staff, the cut the birthday cake to the cheers and admiration of the staff.
