Ex-Reps Member Oghuma Collects APC Nomination Form For Etsako Federal Constituency, Says I Shall Return

Buoyed by his collection of the All Progressives Congress (APC) forms for the Etsako Federal Constituency, Edo State has given reasons why he should be allowed return to the seat he occupied between 2017 and 2023. 

The seat is presently occupied by oil magnate, Hon. Anamero "Danco" Dekeri of the ruling APC, who is seeking a return.

In a statement Thursday from his hometown of Fugar, Etsako Central Local Government Area and made available to journalists in Benin City, Hon. Oghuma said that his tenure in the House of Representatives was marked by impactful representation, constituency empowerment, educational advancement, infrastructural development, and human capital investment aimed at improving the lives of the people.

The former lawmaker member said that he served the people of Etsako Federal Constituency with dedication, experience, and a strong commitment to grassroots development.

The Fugar born politician said that throughout his years in the green Chambers, he remained a visible and accessible representative, who consistently advocated for the needs of Etsako people at the National Assembly.

He added: "I sponsored and supported motions and legislative interventions geared toward national growth and local development, while also ensuring that the interests of my constituents were adequately represented.

"In the area of education, I facilitated several projects and interventions across schools within the constituency. Classrooms were constructed and renovated in different communities, while educational materials and support programmes were provided to encourage learning and improve the academic environment for students. My efforts also contributed to the strengthening of federal educational presence in Etsako."

Recognizing the importance of youth and women empowerment, Hon. Oghuma said that he initiated and supported various skills acquisition and economic empowerment programmes, adding that several hundreds of beneficiaries were trained in vocational skills such as fish farming, GSM repairs, cosmetology, tailoring, welding, confectionery, and agricultural practices. 

He continued: "Many participants received starter packs and tools to help them become self-reliant and economically productive. Infrastructural development also formed a major part of my representation. Several rural road projects, boreholes, solar streetlights, market structures, and community development initiatives were facilitated across Etsako communities. 

"These projects helped improve access to clean water, transportation, security, and commercial activities in many rural areas."

The ex-federal lawmaker highlighted his role in creating employment opportunities for constituents by facilitating appointments and federal job placements for qualified youths within ministries, agencies, and government establishments.

He noted that his leadership style places emphasis on inclusiveness, accessibility, and community engagement just as he strengthened the voice of Etsako Federal Constituency within national politics during his stint. 

The APC top politician reiterated his total commitment to to party unity, democratic values, and peaceful political participation, attributes which have earned him recognition from community leaders, youth groups, and political stakeholders.

He concluded: "My 2017–2023 scorecard reflects a legacy of service, empowerment, and development. My years in office demonstrated a continuous effort to improve the welfare of the people and bring meaningful government presence closer to the grassroots across Etsako Federal Constituency."
