The Edo State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) gas commiserated with Edo State deputy governor, Hon. Dennis Idahosa over the death of his mother, Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa.
Madam Idahosa died on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at the ripe age of 95 in Benin City, Edo State.
A statement by the caretaker committee chairman, Prof. Monday Lewis Igbafen in Benin City explained that the council received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of the matriarch of the Idahosa family of Iguobazuwa, headquarters of Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State.
Comrade Igbafen wrote that at 95 years, there's no doubt that the deputy governor's mother lived a long and impactful life, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and service that will continue to inspire people, her family and the entire community.
The caretaker committee chairman noted that the union recognized that her passing has created a profound void, one that words can hardly fill.
He penned: "On behalf of all comrades and workers in Edo State, we extend our deepest and most sincere condolences to you, the Idahosa family and the entire Idahosa dynasty.
"May you find strength in the sweet memories of Mama you share, and may the Almighty grant Mama eternal rest. Please be assured of our solidarity and support during this difficult time.Accept our heartfelt condolences."
