The Vice Chancellor of University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Edoba Omoregie (SAN) has attributed the recent full accreditation of all degree programmes offered by the school to the hardwork and commitment of the authorities and staff to academic distinction.

Recall that the National Universities Commission (NUC) recently released the result of the accreditation exercise in a letter dated 7th April, 2026 and addressed to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Omoregie.

A statement weekend in Benin City by the Public Relations Officer, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire explained that for the first time in many years, all degree programmes offered by the University of Benin (UNIBEN) have been fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Dr. Ehanire said that the feat followed the successful accreditation exercise conducted by the NUC in October/November last year across the different faculties, schools and centres in the leading tertiary institution.

Elated, the vice chancellor applauded the university's Senate, Faculties, Departments and all the relevant committees who worked assiduously, with the objectives of ensuring due diligence and adherence to the requirements for full accreditation.

Prof. Omoregie reiterated his determination to strengthening the university's undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes as outlined in his five-point agenda.

He said that the leading tertiary institution will continue to promote high educational ideals and values.

The public relations officer added that the full accreditation status of the programmes is for five years (till 2030).
