More messages of felicitations have continued to pour in following the 74th anniversary of the birth of former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

The latest is from the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Dr. Taiwo Akerele, a former Chief of Staff to another Edo State erstwhile governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

Senator Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), presently represents Edo North in the upper legislative branch, and was born on April 4, 1952 in Iyamoh-Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.

While Prof. Monday Igbafen, the chairman, Caretaker Committee,  NLC, Edo State described Senator Oshiomhole in his birthday message as "a courageous, fearless, rugged, articulate, charismatic and engine box of workers' movement", Dr. Akerele noted that Senator Oshiomhole's legacy of service, courage and commitment remain an enduring inspiration.

Comrade Igbafen wrote: "All of us in the labour movement in the state join other numerous well wishers in the state and across our country to wish you well on this momentous day of your birthday.

"Have a blast as we wish you good health in the new age and always."

In a passionate message, the ex-chief of staff wrote that as NLC president, he etched his name in the platinum through courage and principled struggle while as governor of Edo State between 2008 and 2016, he brought government closer to the people and touched lives.

Dr. Akerele, who wrote on behalf of his team at Policy House International said that as an ordinary citizen, he is very much at home with his people in joy and peace.

He further penned: "As APC national chairman, you stood your ground against the cabal at a great cost.

"As a Senator, you are making us proud with your contributions in the upper Chambers."
