Lawson Omokhodion To Deliver Lecture At ITV/Radio Founder's Day, 29th Anniversary

The Independent Television and Radio (ITV/Radio) is set to celebrate it Founder's Day and 29th anniversary with lecture series to answer salient questions on the theme: "'Quo Vadamus' Nigeria, Where Are We Going?"

The theme is expected to enlighten and educate Nigerians on the country's journey so far, its challenges and way forward and will feature erudite academic scholars such as the former pro-chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of Ambrose Ali University (AAU), Ekpoma, Sir (Chief) Lawson Omokhodion, the keynote speaker

A statement by the chairman of the Organizing Committee, Comrade Efosa Uwangue and made available to journalists in Benin City, Edo State disclosed that the event will take place on Wednesday, April 23, 2026 at Ehizua Hub, Opposite ITV Glass House, Airport Road, Benin City at 9:30 am. prompt.

Comrade Uwangue explained that His Excellency, Sir (Chief) Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin will be the chief host while the Commissioner of Information and Strategy of Edo State, Hon. Kassim Afegbua and Dr. (Mrs.) Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor, Director General, Edo State Diaspora Agency will act as panelists.

According to the statement, other prominent academia that are expected to grace the occasion are the dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Marcel Okhakhu and former Director, Nigeria Guild of Editors, Dr. Victor Okhai.

The organizing chairman added that the August occasion will serve as an opportunity for participants to brainstorm, cross fertilize ideas and also learn more about the challenges of Nigeria from inception. 

The statement urged invited guests, members of the public and those who are hungry for knowledge to be part of the epoch making event.

Recalled that the keynote address  for the 2025 edition with the same theme was delivered by former Edo State governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole.
