Easter: Pray For Peace, Divine intervention to Overcome Security Challenges, Bankole-Balogun Charges Christians

The former chairman of Edo State Internal Revenue Board, Otunba Oladele Bankole-Balogun, has called on the Christian community to deepen their faith in God by emulating the virtues of Christ through His crucifixion, death and resurrection.

In an Easter message to Christians, Otunba Bankole-Balogun, who is gunning for the House of Representatives ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Akoko Edo Federal Constituency, congratulated Christians, especially Catholic and Anglican faithful on the completion of the Lenten season.

He reminded that during the period during, they denied themselves the luxuries of life, abstained from unchastity, and sought the face of God for spiritual rejuvenation.

The House of Representatives hopeful emphasized that the lessons from the Lenten season should be translated into building a peaceful, just and egalitarian society in Nigeria where everybody can live without intimidation, harassment, or subjugation, regardless of status or ethnic diversity.

He noted that Easter calls for sober reflection, as the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ exemplify His triumph over death, paving the way for the redemption of mankind from the bondage of sin.

He admonished: "Christians should use the Easter period to pray for peace, tranquillity and divine intervention to overcome the security challenges bedeviling the nation."

Otunba Bankole-Balogun promised to provide worthy representation and promote inclusivity that will give every segment of Akoko Edo a sense of belonging, while positioning the solid minerals rich constituency on the global map of economic development.

The Igarra born politician wished all Christians a fruitful and hitch-free Easter celebration.
