On the occasion of the 2026 Easter celebration, the global president of Edo National Association Worldwide (ENAW), Engr. (Mrs.) Bose Oviasu has appealed to the federal government to adopt a pragmatic approach in ameliorating the excruciating effects of the nation's economy as a result of the increase in the price of fuel.

Mrs. Oviasu, who joined religious and world leaders to felicitate with Christians on the completion of the Lenten season, said that Nigerians in the diaspora  are doing their best, to sustain the economy, through direct investment in the critical sectors of the economy and are contributing significantly to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The Lenten season culminated in the celebration of the life, crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is the essence of Easter.

In a goodwill message to Christians and members of ENAW, she said that Easter calls for sober reflection on the sacrifice of Christ on the cross, his death and resurrection which is the foundation of the Christian faith.

She added: "If Christ had not died and resurrected on the third day, our faith and salvation would have been in vain. His resurrection triumphed over death and paved way for the redemption of mankind from sins."

Easter, Mrs. Oviasu added is an avenue to show love, charity, piety and selfless service to humanity as commanded by God Almighty.

She admonished Christians to deepen their relationship with God by emulating the virtues of Christ and avoid acts capable of impeding their faith in God.

She called on Christians all over the world to intensify efforts in praying for peace, tranquillity and harmony which are vital for the restoration of normalcy in the Middle East.

Giving a vivid account of her stewardship as president of the association, Mrs. Oviasu commended members for their unflinching support and unwavering commitment towards the successful establishment of the Renal Dialysis and Diagnostic Centres in Benin City, Edo South; Okpella, Edo North; and Ekpoma in Edo Central.

The global president of ENAW disclosed that the Renal Dialysis and Diagnostic Centres in Okpella has been completed and stocked with sophisticated medical equipment while the one in Ekpoma is still under construction, however assured that the two centres will be ready for commissioning before the third quarter of the year.

Engr. Oviasu wished Christians a fruitful and hitches free Easter celebration.
