Akhigbe, Scholarship Board Chairman Salutes Oshiomhole@74, Says He Has Defended Edo Interests

The chairman of Edo State Bursary and Scholarship Board, Hon. John Akhigbe has commended former Governor of Edo State, Senator Adams Oshiomhole for articulating issues affecting Edo State for solutions.

In a message in Benin on the occasion of Senator Oshiomhole's 74th birthday celebration, Hon. Akhigbe extolled the sterling qualities of the former national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which have endeared him to Edo people.

The Edo scholarship board chairman said that the Iyamoh, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State born politician is embodied with leadership and inspirational values, attributes which have impacted positively on the lives of Edo people.

The two time governor of Edo State whose tenure was marked with milestone achievements was born on April 4, 1952 in Iyamoh-Uzairue.

Hon Akhigbe, a former chairman of Etsako Central Local Government Council noted that the countless services of former president of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) towards national development and integration have continued to resonate inclusivity, resilience and fostering national unity.

He said: "I want to commend Senator Oshiomhole for his meritorious service to the nation. He has been very vocal at the Upper Legislative Chambers of the National Assembly, articulating issues affecting Edo State for solutions, building bridges of friendship in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu."

Hon. Akhigbe said Afemai nation is supremely proud of his superlative performance during his stint as governor of Edo State between 2008 and 2016, adding that he laid laying a solid foundation with different projects across the three senatorial districts of the state.

The ex-chairmsn of Etsako Central Local Government Area wished Senator Oshiomhole a fruitful birthday bliss and prayed God to imbued him with good health, foresight, wisdom, vitality and courage to render unblemished service to the country.
