Ace Journalist Adesuwa Ehimuan Joins House of Assembly Race, Seeks APC Ticket For Oredo East

Former chairperson of Edo State chapter of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Comrade Adesuwa Ehimuan, weekend formally declared her intention to seek for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Oredo East Constituency seat in the Edo State House of Assembly.

In her declaration speech in Benin City, Comrade Ehimuan reiterated her commitment to purposeful, inclusive, and people-centered representation, anchored on transparency, accountability, and grassroots engagement.

Widely recognized for her advocacy in youth empowerment, women’s inclusion, and community development, she said that she joined the packed race with a clear vision to advance policies that will drive sustainable growth and improve the quality of life for her constituents.

She said that among others, her major priorities will include enhancing access to quality education, promoting economic empowerment, strengthening social welfare systems, and expanding opportunities for young people and women in Oredo East constituency.

While calling on APC leaders, stakeholders, party members, and the people of Oredo East Constituency to support her vision for progress and inclusive development, the ace female journalist emphasized the importance of unity and collective participation in politics.

Comrade Ehimuan pledged her unwavering dedication to effective representation and responsive governance that reflects the needs and aspirations of the people.

According to the details of the revised timetable, the ruling party commenced the sale of forms for all elective positions on April 25, 2026 while the State House of Assembly primary holds on May 21, 2026.
