The leadership of Oredo Local Government, Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disassociated itself from a recent statement by a self styled group, "Oredo Local Government All Progressives Congress Concerned Group", which tried to smear the name of the state secretary of the party, Mr. Lawrence Okah.
A joint statement in Benin City by the chairman, Mr. Osamudiamen Osarenkhoe and the secretary, Magdalene Isekhure stoutly defended Mr. Okah, noting that he is "a strong APC leader from Oredo Local Government Area who has "contributed greatly to the upkeep of the party in the local government area.
Osarenkhoe and Isekhure stated that the so-called Concerned group members connected to the statement, which was coordinated by one Mr. Osamuyi Osadiaye are not known members of the APC in Oredo.Local Government Area.
The chairman and the secretary described the faceless members of the group as "impostors and interlopers, desperately trying to foment trouble in the local government chapter of the ruling party."
The duo urged members of the public to disregard the statement in its entirety as "everything said by the fake APC members are all lies from the pit of hell."
They said: "Mr. Lawrence Okah is a reputable party man who has put everything humanly and constitutionally possible to ensure that APC remains the party to beat in Edo State and Nigeria as a whole."
They solicited for continued support for Governor Monday Okpebholo to succeed in Edo State, maintaining that with project sites abounding in all parts of the state, the governor is doing very well.
They added: "All members of the APC in Oredo Local Government Area are expected to continue to mobilize for the renewed agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as we prepare for the 2027 election which is possible for the president."
While congratulating Senator elect Dr. Joe Ikpea (Edo Central) and House of Representatives member elect for Ovia Federal Constituency, Hon. Omosede Igbinedion following their victory in the just concluded by-election in Edo State, they declared that "APC in Edo State and Nigeria as a whole will continue to have victory."
