The South South Zonal Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has berated the party's national publicity secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba over his criticism of Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno and his Delta State counterpart, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori over their open declaration of support for President Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2027 election.

A statement by the zonal publicity secretary, Prince Etim Isong on behalf of the South South Zonal Working Committee slammed Mr. Ologunagba for failing to differentiate between expressing personal opinion and officially speaking on behalf of the PDP.

Prince Isong warned Mr. Ologunagba to refrain from interfering with or discussing matters related to the party's affairs in the South South zone and its respective states.

He advised him to stay away from Edo PDP and "his unsolicited unholy comments during this Holy Week."

The committee noted that a character like Mr. Ologunagba is unfit to hold the sacred office of the national publicity secretary of the party, adding:

"The party in the South South Zone is tired of the constant embarrassing and shameful conduct of this Debo Ologunagba and wishes for him to desist, forthwith, from interfering, discussing, or issuing any statements regarding issues concerning or relating to the party in the South South Zone or any of its States. Ignoring this warning will attract severe consequences, the Zonal leadership warns.

The statement emphasized that Ologunagba's tendency to make unguarded statements has contributed to the many avoidable crises the party has faced, noting that his unprofessional conduct is seen as a significant factor in the PDP's ongoing struggles to regain power in Ondo State.

Prince Isong further stated that acts of disrespect towards leaders of the party in the South South will not be tolerated from the  national spokesman or anyone else.

He noted that Ologunagba's carelessness has also led to affronts demonstrated by the party's Governors' Forum toward the Supreme Court regarding recent pronouncements concerning the office of the national secretary of the party.

"In light of these issues, the South South Zonal Working Committee reiterates that Ologunagba is unfit to speak for the party in matters affecting its interests in this zone," the statement concluded.
