A group, Anioma Conscience, has hailed Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his decision to quit the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and join the ruling All People’s Congress (APC).
In a congratulatory message to Governor Oborevwori by Dr. Chris Okobah, the leader of the group, he said the move was a bold and strategic step which is aimed at ensuring the continued progress and development of Delta State.
Citing the political crisis presently ravaging the main opposition party, Governor Oborevvori had on Wednesday led the entire PDP bloc in the oil rich state, including his predecessor and vice presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, to join the APC.
Dr. Okobah, a grassroots mobilizer from Onicha-Ugbo, Aniocha North Local Government Área of the state, who had earlier in February quit the PDP, said the governor's bold and strategic step was clearly in line with his pragmatic and people-centered leadership in the state.
The leader of Anioma Conscience, a formidable political pressure group in the state, noted that the move will ensure the continued progress and development of the state.
Continuing, Dr. Okobah remarked that Governor Oborevwori’s vision, integrity and commitment to inclusive governance remains clear to all those who have been following his development strides and political trajectory.
He assured Governor Oborevwori of the group’s total and unwavering support for his policies pand development programmes being championed diligently by him across Delta State.
The leader of Anioma Conscience observed that the governor’s leadership style has, no doubt, brought meaningful impact to the people, expressing confidence that even greater achievements were in the offing.
Dr. Okobah added: "We wish to reaffirm the resolve of the people of Anioma and Aniocha North in particular to stand solidly with the governor. Anioma Conscience pledges to continue to mobilize, sensitize and support the governor's mandate to ensure a resounding electoral victory."
He prayed God to continue to grant the governor the wisdom, strength and grace to lead Delta State to greater heights.
