On the occasion of the Muslim festival of Eid-el-Fitr, the Chairman of the Edo State Council, Nigeria Union of Jourmnalists (NUJ), Comrade Festus Alenkhe has prayed for Muslims to be rewarded and their prayers answered for all the sacrifices that went with the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement in Benin and made available to journalists, Alenkhe prayed that the festival brings peace, Joy and countless blessings to the people of Edo state.
The chairman specifically prayed to Allah to grant all Muslim journalists in Edo State the zeal and temerity to continue to carry out their job diligently devoid of any form of intimidation and harassment, but to align with the ethics of the journalism profession.
The statement also wished everyone in Edo state and their loved ones a beautiful Sallah filled with unity, gratitude and baraka.
Against the backdrop of rising cases of kidnappings and other forms of criminalities, the Edo NUJ chairman called on Edo people to continue to support and encourage the various security agents in their bid to flush out criminal elements out of the state.
He added: "Criminals should not be given any spot in the state. The people should learn to render useful information to the police and other security agents with a view to checking the activities of criminals in Edo state."
