Edo Choice 2024: I'll Make Edo Tourist Destination for Healthcare- Okpebholo, To Hold Interactive Session With NMA

Ahead of the September 21 Edo State Governorship Election, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Monday "Akpakomiza" Okpebholo has declared his intention to provide an enabling environment to make Edo a tourist destination for health care.
Senator Okpebholo who spoke weekend in Benin at an interactive session with some doctors said that physicians are his friends and that he appreciated the sacrifices they make to save lives.
He said: "Doctors are my friends. I appreciate the sacrifices they make to save lives. If I am elected as the governor of Edo State, by the special Grace of God, I will provide an enabling environment to make Edo a tourist destination for health care."
The APC candidate apologized for not personally attending the first scheduled meeting with NMA because he had another assignment outside the state, adding that he was however represented by his running mate, Mr. Dennis Idahosa.
The governorsip hopeful however promised to get across to the NMA Edo State officials to arrange a new date for a proper interactive session, where there will be a full house.
A former Edo State secretary of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Dr. Leonard Atsikidi disclosed that there are about 2,000 doctors in the state and each of these doctors sees an average of a hundred patients per week.
Dr. Atsikidi, a member of Edo APC Campaign Council said that doctors are in contact with the grassroots, noting that many of their patients believe in them and listen to their political opinions.
The spokesperson promised that the group would mobilize Edo doctors and citizens to give victory to APC in the forthcoming election.
